The Quality Manager (QM) is responsible for the compliance and auditing of company processes with a concentration on ISO 9001, AS9100, and the corrective action system. The QM ensures that manufactured products meet internal and external quality standards, assures the company quality system meets or exceeds customer requirements, and problem solves to eliminate defects. The QM is also responsible for training and developing their direct reports.
CORE DUTIES:
Compliance with company ISO / AS systems
- Analyze and recommend appropriate changes to respective managers for compliance with procedures
- Audit existing and new procedures for compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements
- Assume the responsibility of ISO representative, coordinate and administer third party quality audits (including communicating, reporting, and tracking of follow-up actions)
- Manage internal process audits and schedule for all departments
Maintains documentation control system in compliance with the company’s quality goals
Champion the corrective action system
- Maintain the corrective / preventative action program, inclusive of tracking status of open actions, receiving and reviewing responses, working with departments for timely completion and periodic reports and metrics
- Monitor, evaluate, and assign corrective actions to appropriate department heads for completion
- Assure internal and external corrective action opportunities are channeled through the appropriate systems
- Responsible for issuing and processing customer returns (RMAs)
- Communicate with customers regarding any quality concerns / issues
- Provide timely performance reviews for all direct reports
- Analyze defect data to identify opportunities for improvement and reduce scrap costs
- Train and develop direct reports
- Work collaboratively with other departments
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the adherence and administration of all ISO9001 / AS9100 QMS requirements
- Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with all departments, customers, and third-party auditors
- Advanced computer skills (especially Microsoft Office) and able to analyze large amounts of data
- Experience using various statistical techniques to monitor, identify adjustments required, and present data on processes and manufactured products
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 to 5 years in a management role with direct reports
- US Citizenship is required
